Clustertruck is a platform game developed by independent Swedish[1] studio Landfall Games and published by tinyBuild. It was released for Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on 27 September 2016. It was released for Nintendo Switch on 15 March 2018.[2][3]
Gameplay[edit]
In Clustertruck, the player controls a character from a first-person perspective.[4] They are set to jump onto a moving line of trucks, avoiding obstacles and truck pile-ups and crashes.[5] The player is usually unable to touch anything other than trucks, and will otherwise fail their task of reaching the goal at the end of the level.[6]
On each stage, the player is scored based on how fast they reach a goal line and a number of style points based on various tricks, such as jumping off a truck that is currently in mid-air. The player's cumulative score points can be used to purchase one of several abilities, such as a double jump or a quick boost of speed, which can then be used to either successfully pass more difficult levels or to improve one's time and scoring on earlier ones.[7]
Development[edit]
Development on Clustertruck started in September 2015, after the development on Landfall Games' previous game, Square Brawl, was finished.[5] The game was officially revealed on 16 December 2015 with a trailer and a release date of April 2016.[6] At PAX South 2016, it was announced that Landfall Games had signed a publishing deal with tinyBuild.[8] This deal led the developers to push the release date to the third quarter of 2016, where Landfall Games CEO Wilhem Nylund said that it was 'initially intended for the game to be a small project with a short development', but changed his mind and considered the game to be delayed even further, as it has 'gaining more and more traction.'[4] As an April Fool's Day joke, Landfall released a free demo version of Clustertruck called Supertruck that incorporated the visual style and mechanic of the recently released Superhot, in which the internal clock within the game moves forward when the player-character moves.[9]
Landfall released preview copies of the game to various YouTube and Twitch streamers to help promote the title. The game was released on 27 September 2016.[7]
Criticism[edit]
Clustertruck Gameplay
Clustertruck on PlayStation 4 remains largely unplayable because the publisher would not respond to bug reports regarding button mapping. The gameplay requires the player to jump and look around simultaneously. But the static button mapping put look on the right stick and jump on the X button of the PS4 game controller, making it impossible to do both. Developers have expressed their resentment and say they are unable to fix it without cooperation of the publisher.

It becomes a deadly state, one wrong step, and your truck collapse. It is a cruel game that can crush the players anytime.
Gameplay
Clustertruck is a difficult game but not so difficult if we know the correct rules of playing this topsy-turvy driving skill. The players are required to be very careful while jumping from one truck to another. Apply little physics and the game is in your hand. The players need to hold the spacebar and shift the button simultaneously; these functional keys can help the players to fly like a rocket throughout the game. The players need to jump on the muddled trucks to reach their destination and complete the levels. Once this technique is mastered, no one can stop you from achieving the goal.
You cannot stop moving, in Clustertruck if anyone stays up on one spot for a long time, then the player can end collapsing in a deadly truck pile, it is one of the obstacles too. The other hurdles in this game are swinging hammers, lasers, flamethrowers, crashing planes, etc. Just take a few seconds and find out the spot for jumping, you need to be daring because playing safe is not going to help.
There will be thousands of trucks crashing into each other, be focused throughout the game, and be very sharp with your movements. There will be many times when you have to jump in the air; no tracks, only flying cars driven by a terrible driver. Hop on from one truck to another; don’t fall off then the game is over.
